Understanding Florida’s Education Requirements
Staying licensed as a real estate agent in Florida doesn’t stop after passing your exam. Ongoing education is required to keep your license active, stay compliant with state laws, and continue growing your expertise in an ever-evolving market
In Florida, real estate education happens in two phases:
1. Post-Licensing (First Renewal Only)
If you’re newly licensed, your first renewal comes with an additional requirement:
-
Sales Associates: 45 hours of post-licensing education
-
Brokers: 60 hours of post-licensing education
This must be completed before your first renewal deadline (typically within 18–24 months of getting licensed). Missing this requirement can result in your license becoming null and void.
2. Continuing Education (Every Renewal After That)
After completing your post-licensing requirement, you’ll move into the standard continuing education (CE) cycle.
